For centuries, travellers have enjoyed the famous West
Highland Welcome at this family-run inn at the entrance to the Great Glen.
After massive refurbishment, the ten bright modern en-suite bedrooms all
enjoy spectacular sea views. The Inn is ideally located for Walking, Fishing
and Touring the West Highlands. Even the Hebridean islands of Mull, Iona
and Skye are close enough for day trips. Good company, fine beers and
a selection of malt whiskies measured the old Highland way. All the drams
are 35ml. Running out of things to read, why not swop the books you've
finished for books from the library. Take your time to browse and enjoy
a coffee or something stronger, this is probably the only library you
will find inside a bar in the Highlands. In addition to the bar and restaurant
the Inn offers a cosy, well appointed lounge where you can relax a while
in front of the open fire as you watch the ferry ply to and fro across
the Narrows. The Inn has recently been refurbished but a lot of the traditional
ambience of the place has been preserved. |

.The hotel is only a short walk from the
town centre. Still retaining many of its original features notably the
wood panelling and open fires which create the welcoming atmosphere of
a bygone age. The Highland is a fine example of a 'Highland Hotel'. Fort
William is an excellent touring base. Places of interest include: the
Great Glen, the Caledonian Canal with Neptune's staircase, Glenfinnan
and of course Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain. During the summer
there is a steam train which runs between Fort William and Mallaig. |
